After you do this add the rest of the ingredients to the rice cooker.

  • Olive oil
  • A packet of Sazon – Make your own Sazon!
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Can of tomato sauce
  • Can of beans
  • Chicken broth
  • Cloves of garlic
  • Medium onion
  • Med potatoes
  • Dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Puerto Rican Stewed Beans With Sausage

Now that you have your ingredients to make this recipe follow the steps below to make it:

Press the simmer/heating button on your rice cooker. Don't have one, dump the ingredient, and skip these steps.

During the simmering stage, add the olive oil, onions, garlic, and mix for a few minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients.

Once you have added all of the ingredients, stir it one last time. Cancel the simmering/heat button, if you are doing this technique.

Close the rice cooker and press the White Rice Button. Now, depending on your rice cooker you don't have to do anything as it will automatically set to 45 minutes.

  • 1 pack (13 ounces) Eckrich Smoked Sausage
  • 2 Tablespoons of Sofrito
  • 1 Tablespoon of Olive oil
  • 1 of Packet of sazon
  • 1 can (14 ounces) Diced tomatoes
  • 1 Can of tomato sauce (8 ounces)
  • 1 Can of beans (red or pink)
  • 3 cups of Chicken broth
  • 2 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 Medium onion, diced
  • 2 Med potatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon of Dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Dump all the ingredients into the rice cooker and stir well.
  2. Press White Rice (45 minutes) and start.
