  • Salt and pepper

How to make shredded beef tacos

Now that you have gathered your ingredients it is time to make shredded beef tacos. All you have to do is follow the steps below:

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the beef on all sides. Transfer the beef to a plate and set it aside.

Add the onion to the same pan and cook for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the spices and cook the mixture for 30 seconds.

Add the orange juice, lime juice, crushed tomatoes, and stock. Stir to combine. Add the roast back to the pan and pop on the lid.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 2 ½ hours or until the beef is tender.

Use two forks to shred the beef and stir into the liquid. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.

Shredded beef tacos (tacos de Carne Deshebrada) are tender, flavorful, amazing tacos that your family will ask for time and again.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Pounds beef chuck
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups stock
  • 1 Tbsp paprika
  • 1 Tsp chipotle
  • 1 Tsp oregano
  • 1 Tsp coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the beef on all sides. Set aside.
  2. Add the onion to the same pan and cook for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Add the spices and fry them for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour the orange juice, lime juice, crushed tomatoes, and stock into the pot and stir to combine. Return the beef chuck to the pot and cover with a lid.
  5. Bring down the heat until it's barely simmering. Cook for 2 1/2 hours or until the beef is tender.
  6. With the help of two forks, shred the beef and cook for 30 minutes more.
